There are fabulous walks from Low Jock Scar and in the local area.  No need to use the car, just put on your hiking boots and you have a choice of walking routes straight from the door.

Our favourite walk is through the Bannisdale valley where you cross a Dry Howe bridge over Bannisdale Beck which runs through Low Jock Scar.  I took this photo on a lovely winter walk.

For those who like a Wainwight, there are a few in the area, including Grey Crag, Tarn Crag, Bannisdale Horseshoe and Borrowdale and Bretherdale.

Wild swimmers will love Gurnal Dubs and Potter Tarn which are set in stunning scenery on Potter Fell.
